Standing on the dock at halesite marina in ny at approximately 11:00 p. M. On 8/26/19. Sounds include: the movement of a floating dock, water splashing, fish jumping out of the water, boat masts, wind, crickets/insects, a car being started, passing cars, and an airplane. You will hear heavy traffic (motorcycles and cars), planes passing by (on minute 2:30 and 6:30), dogs barking and some indistinguishable talks. Recording from the balcony of my air bnb in venice, italy. You can hear doors opening, people walking, dogs barking, seagulls, a plane goes by, a person with a limp walks by, speech in italian and other ambient sounds through a reverberant street. There are no cars to pollute the soundscape.

Recorded from my balcony at about 23 hundred hours on new year's eve in 2012. Mostly sounds of fireworks which echo from neighbouring buildings and water dripping in nearby gutter. Some distant human voices and traffic noise. Recorded with a zoom h1 portable stereo recorder.

This is a slightly too-loud recording made on a mid-afternoon weekday bus trip in suburban shanghai. One can hear the automated announcements, the voice of the ticket collector and other passengers, the traffic outside and the sound of the bus accelerating and braking.

Recorded on my zoom h4n in early spring at 1:32 am. I believe this to be a call of the great horned owl that is found all over north american as well as parts of central and south anerica. There is a distant sound of a dog barking but there are three owl calls, with the last two the cleanest.

Here's a low volume, low frequency noise recorded during an acoustic survey of a condominium to identify a sleep-disturbing noise. It is primarily a combination of 13, 18 and 23 hz (5 hz steps). Not audible on computer speakers, it should be listened to on closed back headphones or very good quality sound system.

This is the sound of an inland vessel on river rhine, near mannheim, germany. You can hear the rhythmic and fluctuating vibrations of the diesel engine. Seems to be an older one. Unfortunately i oriented my zoom h2n wrongly (90° to the right). So most of the noise appears on the left ear.

A raw recording of thunderstorm that my father recorded, istanbul, turkey. Heavy thunderstorm interrupting sleep at 3 am (but it didn't wake me up).

A few years ago we found it in the corner of a half-abandoned courtyard of one of the houses located on the main avenue of the city. Even then it looked bad. I'm sure there's nothing left of it now. Perhaps these sounds are the only evidence of its existence. Fragment 4/4.

I videoed this sound of a subway train in glasgow scotland on the famous "clockwork orange" train as they are called. I used my canon powershot a460 digital camera to video this, i simply took the sound from the video. I was lucky enough to get a good run on this with just a few poeple on board, so there wasn't any other sound apart from the train, the only time you here some movement of feet is when the doors open. This is a recording made in my living room of a mitzvah tank, the giant vans the lubavichers drive around brooklyn. They play jewish religious music out of speakers on these vans. Its a sound i always enjoyed, especially during the high holidays when there is a giant parade of them on flatbush.

I made this recording by using a metal shovel and ramming it into the icy snow. The snow has been around for a couple months now and has been rained on and turned to tiny ice crystals. It sounds like it could be sand, grainy dirt or rock dust.
